Goldair Cargo at the welcoming ceremony in Piraeus for the “green” car carrier vessel “YUAN HAI KOU”

Goldair Cargo’s Maritime Transport department had the honor of being among the selected guests at the welcoming ceremony in Piraeus for the “green” car carrier vessel “YUAN HAI KOU,” organized by the Piraeus Port Authority (OLP).

The Cosco Shipping vessel began its maiden voyage from China with Europe as its destination, making Piraeus its main stop. The Yuan Hai Kou is the “greenest” vessel of its size to have been released by the global maritime community, as it is dual-fuel, using liquefied natural gas (LNG) and solar energy, while its uppermost deck features a large photovoltaic park.

Present at the ceremony were the Deputy Minister of Shipping and Island Policy, Mr. Stefanos Gkikas, the CEO of OLP S.A., Mr. Su Xudong, and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Fang Qiu.
